Stampato a tiratura limitata su vinile 180 grammi color blu marmorizzato (1111 copie in totale) a cui è abbinato un taccuino formato A 5 con il celeberrimo logo dei Rolling Stones, 'A Songbook With Friends' contiene quattordici brani che esemplificano il continuo scambio di repertorio tra la band di Mick Jagger e Keith Richards e altri artisti: gli Stones eseguono classici blues, country e rock and roll di Willie Dixon/Muddy Waters ('I Just Wanna Make Love To You'), Hank Snow ('I'm Movin' On'), Tommy Tucker ('High Heel Sneakers'), Buddy Holly ('Not Fade Away'), Chuck Berry ('Carol', 'Around And Around') oltre alle loro 'Little By Little' e 'Time On My Side' (tutte riprese dal vivo da show radiofonici) mentre sono Luther Allison, Otis Clay, Popsy Dixon degli Holmes Brothers  con Wendell e Aherman Holmes, Junior Wells, Taj Mahal e Melanie a interpretare rispettivamente cavalli di battaglia della band inglese come 'You Can't Always Get What You Want', 'Wild Horses', 'Beast Of Burden', '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction', 'Honky Tonk Women' e 'Ruby Tuesday'
